Queries

Is it free to submit my site?

Yes, completely free. Pick the section that fits your site, submit the URL, and your card goes into the review queue. There is no fee now and Quire50 will not charge one in the future.

What does 'Quire50' mean?

A quire is a traditional gathering of pages — a set of folded sheets bound into a volume. Quire50 works in the same spirit: gathering sites from the open web and filing them into a readable reference catalogue. The number marks our edition.

How are entries organised?

By section, which we call drawers. Every card is filed into one of 22 sections — from banking and finance to travel and transit — so related entries sit together and are easy to find. You can browse any drawer without an account or a search query.

How do I file my site?

Open the submit page, enter your URL, and choose the section that fits. If you leave the description blank we will fill it in from the site itself. The whole process takes under a minute and costs nothing.

Do you review every submission?

Yes. Every card is read by a person before it is filed, and we go back through the drawers periodically to pull cards for sites that have gone offline. That is how we keep the catalogue readable rather than cluttered.

Can I update my entry?

If your site has moved or your description needs changing, use the submit form again with a note and we will update the card. Corrections cost nothing.

What kind of sites do you file?

Any working website with a clear purpose fits somewhere in the catalogue. We file commercial sites, independent publishers, community platforms, and professional practices across all 22 sections. If your site is online and has something to say for itself, there is a drawer for it.

About the register

Quire50 is a free web catalogue — 832 entries filed across 22 sections, each card read and set by a person before it joins the stack. The name comes from a traditional quire: a gathering of pages bound into a volume. We work the same way, gathering sites from across the open web and binding them into a legible reference. There is no algorithm deciding what goes where and no fee charged for filing. Open a drawer, read the cards, and follow the entries that interest you. If you run a site of your own, submit the URL and we will file your card in the right section.
